VISIT THE MUSEUM OF ROMANTICISM

An intimate palace-museum
Created in 1924 and housed in the Palacio del Marqués de Matallana, the Museo del Romanticismo recreates the life of an aristocratic 19th-century Madrid home. Each room retains its period furniture and an elegant atmosphere that immerses visitors in the world of Romanticism.

Why visit?
The museum exhibits over 1,600 works and objects, including paintings by Goya and Federico de Madrazo, pianos, antique toys, porcelain and jewellery. It's the ideal place to understand 19th-century Madrid society and discover the spirit of Romanticism.
