VISIT THE SABATINI GARDENS
A green setting opposite the Palais Royal
Located on the north side of the Royal Palace, the Sabatini Gardens are a landscaped area designed in a neoclassical style with geometric paths, statues, ponds and fountains. Although they are more recent than the palace, they blend harmoniously into the monumental ensemble.
Why visit them?
These gardens are perfect for a leisurely stroll, admiring the play of symmetry and contemplating the Royal Palace from a privileged angle. Their elegant, peaceful atmosphere also makes them a popular location for photographers, especially at sunset.
A brief history and anecdotes
The gardens owe their name to the Italian architect Francesco Sabatini, who helped build the Palais Royal. Anecdote: although they bear his name, they were laid out long after his death, in the 1930s, on the site of the former royal stables.
