A modern and inclusive neighbourhood

Why visit?

A brief history and anecdotes
Once a working-class district, Chueca was transformed from the 1980s onwards, becoming a symbol of the modern world Movida madrileña. Anecdote: the Plaza de Chueca takes its name from the Spanish composer Federico Chueca, famous for his zarzuelas (Spanish comic operas).
