One of the most beautiful landscaped parks in Paris

Located in the 19ᵉ arrondissement, the Buttes-Chaumont park captivates with its steep relief, caves, waterfalls and spectacular viewpoints. It is a place that is both exotic and romantic, popular with walkers and families alike.

  

Why visit?

Its green hills, suspension bridges and famous Sibylline temple make it a unique place in Paris. Ideal for walks, picnics and photography, it also has plenty of places to play and relax.

  

A brief history and anecdotes

Developed in 1867 by the engineer Adolphe Alphand at the request of Napoleon III, the park was created on a former site of quarries and rubbish dumps. Its artificial reliefs, inspired by Italian landscapes, make it one of the masterpieces of the Second Empire.

- Cross the suspension bridge and admire the view from the Sibylline temple
- Explore the grotto and its waterfall
- Take a walk along the wooded paths
