Located in the heart of the Jardin des Plantes, the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle is one of the most prestigious scientific establishments in the world. It houses exceptional collections on biodiversity, palaeontology, mineralogy and much more.

A brief history and anecdotes

Created in 1793 from the Royal Garden of Medicinal Plants, the Museum's mission is to study nature and make it better known. The Grande Galerie de l'Évolution, inaugurated in 1889, was completely renovated in 1994 to offer an immersive and spectacular scenography.
